Just the instrumental part even... and in someplaces i miss the little growls we've come to know and love, but at the same time, not... cause that was just so "pure"... so.. fresh.. so new! This picture always tells it all for me.. it was immediately after he sang, and listening to the fan reaction.. sigh so adorable! Who'd have figured we'd all be in it this far, and he'd become the STAR that he is now?!?! Gosh. It's kinda scary! I just know that i remember being so afraid when he would talk about "the real world starts in...." (either after AI was over, after the tour was over... etc... lol) I was afraid we'd never see him again!! Like, EVER! Not like now, where we get a glimpse every few weeks, but know that, eventually, he's coming back... I thought he'd go back to being Mr Teacher Aiken. But like he says, he's just got a bigger classroom now. I'm quite content in all this right now!

My crappy old dial up and I did fine with it...took like 45 minutes to d/l, but it d/l as a wmv, as well as I recall, and plays fine. 1st times? Oh, this is great. I was mad because AI was only coming as near as Memphis...and the show was scheduled for August 16. What kind of idiots schedule a concert in Memphis August 16, of all days? (for those who don't know, it's the anniversary of Elvis' death, and the city is crawling with fans on pilgrimage; candlelight processions and all.) But on Wednesday of that week I got curious and checked with the Chamber of Commerce, and the Elvis festivities actually end the 15th. So then Thursday, I checked the tickets, and found 8th row at the corner of the stage...and asked the Broad Mum how wild she was feeling. Friday I called around & found a motel room, and Saturday we jumped in the car and drove 200 miles. Got there in time to eat a Whopper and change clothes (and meet 3 Broads! I had just started hanging online) and find our way to the Pyramid. The moment he rose through the smoke was unbelievable. And then at the end, when he came back up in a bright orange U of TN jersey, squatting like he didn't want anybody to see him till the last minute. Lil sht. Then we got Krispy Kremes, slept a few hours and drove another 200 miles. Never done anything like that before...but done it several times since, and hope to do it many more. Here's an eerie bit...what really pushed me to check that Wednesday was on the way to work, I heard a favorite song I hadn't heard in ages, Marc Cohn's 'Walkin in Memphis'. While we were standing in line at the Pyramid that Saturday waiting to get into the show, what started to play over the loudspeakers? Yep. I said 'mom, I think we were supposed to be here'. I was down for the count yesterday and I meant to make a thread, but it didn't happen (obviously). Now I see there are suggestions? I already have one half started, but I'll go back and look in case I see something that strikes me. Try not to get to page 110 before I catch up, m'kay! I wanted a perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Is it SOON yet? I've decided he should cover the song 'Longer' by Dan Fogelberg since it's quite appropriate considering the amount of time we've been waiting for this CD.... well lots of things come to mind actually. Oh, I meant to say how great it is about all these DJs being pro Clay. I hope that they really do play his music more when the album comes out. Have a lovely weekend everyone.
